Went to the Maui Motorhome Depot to
have the tyres changed on the van as the tread was looking worn and also took
advantage of the linen exchange service. From here we headed into town
parked up the van and strolled around the streets. Many of the buildings
are still being rebuilt or demolished due to the earthquake here four years
ago. The botanical gardens are worth a visit and we had a quick look at
the museum just to see the Moa skeleton.
From the town we headed out to the
Banks Peninsula and found a lovely place to stop for the night at Wainui
overlooking Akaroa harbour.
