After
our three day rest at Camping Alevi we continued up country along the pilgrim
route originally called the Clear Water Valley.
We stopped at the village of Ransby, to visit the ‘pilgrim
tapestry’. It was created by local women,
inspired by the Bayeux tapestry. It
depicts local life and history.
Spent the night at
the entrance of Fulufjallet National Park.
Early
in the morning we went for a walk up to Njupeskarsfallet waterfall, which was
very impressive, we then climbed onto the plateau and did a circular tour of
the valley.
After breakfast we
were back on the road north to Stromsund and the beginning of the ‘Wilderness
Road’. We took the track, potholes and
all, for 25 km to the lower Hallingsfallet waterfall car park.
We were delighted to see two moose, a young one and an adult
along the track.
The weather looked
like rain when we arrived so we decided to make an early start the next day to
see the falls.
