Sanctuary of Rhamnous

Today took us to the Sanctuary of Rhamnous built between the 6th and 4th century BC.
From the top we walk down the sacred way

To the remains of the Temple of Nemesis, the only Greek temple named after this god.

The way leads down the valley to the high cliffs on the seas edge to the Fortified city of Rhamnous
This massive archaeological excavation shows the remains of a very impressive Major Naval city.

Many stone anchors litter the streets.

This was an unusual and very interesting visit and recommended to anyone in this area.
