Travelling around the Firth of Thames we enter the Coromandel Forest Park and the Kaureranga Valley. This beautiful valley was once a very large logging area for the Kauri trees. We crossed the wire rope bridge to reach the viewpoint for the Billy Goat falls. There were lots of Kingfishers inn the area.
After our walk we continue the drive up the 25, which clings to the coastline in many places, to Coromandel and then head further northwards. The scenery just gets better and better and the roads smaller and smaller.
We manage to find a tiny pull in just off the beach to spend the night in. As you can see from the picture it was raining but the sea was fairly calm.
