Pelion penninsular, southern Pelio.

Leaving Delphi behind we headed through the mountains and North to Volos before turning down the peninsular to Sikia Camping at Kala Nera.
Lovely site with large pitches and overlooking the Pagasitikos Gulf.

From the beach at our campsite.

We walked into Kala Gatzea.
This is a pretty little waterfront village with plenty of bars and restaurants.

For our first scooter exploration of this area we drive south stopping off at

Horta for our first coffee break.
Another beautiful and peaceful seaside village.

From the village the road hugs the coastline along the gulf with brilliant views at every turn.

The section between Molina and Koukouleika was very picturesque and the enclosed bay is full of yachts.

After driving along the edge of Trikeri bay we then climb up to the hilltop village of Trikeri getting some great views of Kates with the mount Tisseo in the distance.

From Trikeri we take a short divert down to Alogoporos to get some views of the Island of Paliotrikeri with the Monastery of Agios Ioannis.

Heading back to Trikeri we take the coast road down to the tip of the peninsular past a tiny village of Milos,

and then just round the corner to Agios Kiriaki.

With a large working boat yard with many slip ramps and boats being repaired.

We backtrack to Milina and then head across the peninsular firstly to the beach of Platanias

and then on to Kastri

Our next stop was the bay of Mourtias.

From here we picked up a white lane which deteriorated very quickly into a Sarah special, not for the faint hearted and definitely not designed for our scooter. A little help from a local told us that the road was fine and gave us directions, with a smile on his face.

We finally arrived at Paltsi after an hour of hard riding.
A large beer was required numb my bum and sore hands.
The island you can see in the distance is Skiathos.

Feeling Comfortably numb we carry back to our campsite on proper roads.

Taking in the vilages of Lefokastro and Afissos.
