South Africa ( March, April 2015 ) Mountain Zebra

Hello. Sorry we have not posted lately but since we got back from Spain, after a great winter with all our pals at Pinar, things have been a bit hectic.
We had a couple of weeks in the UK visiting family and getting our gear together for our trip to South Africa to visit our pals Graham and Cathy.
They had arranged a brilliant itinerary for us and we started at their home in Johannesburg.
After a quick couple of days and a taster of local life, we set off with the Camping trailer heading for Natures valley, the Garden route and Cape Town.
Firstly though, on route we were to visit our first Game Park at Mountain Zebra reserve.
A whole new experience for us and lived up to its name with Zebras everywhere.

We also saw our first Lions, lying by the side of the track just a kilometre or so from the camp. They had just made a kill and were sleepy so we were able to get very close to them. An amazing site and very lucky because they had only just introduced these two to the park from Kruger.

 Our first Elephant

 African Buffalo

So as these last three pictures show, we had already bagged three of the big five on our first trip. Well pleased. The whole experience lived up to our expectations with wild life everywhere. Birds of  different types such as we do not get in Europe.
We were having to get Graham to stop every few meters for a new shot.
