We were told that this was a proper castle and it really is. Originally built by Peter 1st in the
14th century, it fell into disrepair due to plundering of its stone for buildings in the town. In 1902 Count of Torralba, the owner of the castle, substantially reconstructed it to its former glory. Standing at the top of a high rock cliff overlooking the Guadalquivir river, it is well worth a visit if you like real castles.
