Ravene, Opononi Waipoua Kauri Forest and Tane Mahuta

Today we go across to Kaikohe and toward the Hokianga Harbour and the pretty town of Ravene.  We enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade cake overlooking the water.

From here we head to Opononi, which was made famous by a dolphin, named Opia who befriended the local children.

We carried on down the west coast to Waipoua Kauri Forest, which has the oldest Kaurii tree called Tane Mahuta which they think is around 2,000 years old.
