Denmark

After a Nightmare nineteen hour crossing of the North sea we landed in Esbjerg feeling very under the weather. We travelled up the west coast in very windy conditions. The landscape was as expected, very flat and many dust storms, coming off the freshly tilled fields, made driving difficult.
We spent our first night in the north-west corner of the Ringkobing Fjord, nature reserve. The next day the wind had dropped and we carried on up the coast. We braved another ferry to cross from Harboor Tange to Agger Tange. At Agger we were treated with a flying display by the Terns who were nesting on the sand banks. We carried on through the Thy national park, enjoying the undulating landscape and spent the evening at Raehr Fiskepark mini camping. Fantastic value at £12 a night and for another £7.00 Matt and I had two hours fishing and landed a four and a half pound rainbow trout which we had for dinner the next day.  Great site and friendly host..
Next morning we paid a visit to Denmark's only sea cliff bird colony at Bulbjerg.
We were greeted by hundreds of nesting Kittiwakes and a small flock of Scoters out at sea.
Tomorrow back on a ferry from Hirtshal to Stavanger and hoping for a smooth crossing as well as seeing some Fulmars and Gannets.
