Took the scooter out for a ride down the western coast of the Mani, our first stop for the day was at the Dirou caves.
We arrived just in time for a guided boat ride through this cave and river complex.
We were quite surprised to be called from the back of the queue to the front position on the boat but soon found out why.
You needed to be very short to fit under some of the tunnels, no cash hats provided here just shouted instructions in Greek to duck down. The water was crystal clear and the cave ceilings were full of stalactites. A really good journey through natures wonders.
After the boat trip we were left to make our own way out of the cave system along a walk and emerged at the exit overlooking Dirou bay.
We head off down the coast on our scooter getting some wonderful views of the coastline. Below is a photograph of Mezpou Bay
We finally arrive down at Gerolimenas a very pretty harbour village not far from Vathia which we visited a few days ago.
