Marinha to Carvallo 5th April

Furthur travelling around the coast paths and met up with Pete and Margaret again and went to Carvallo with them and had a meal on the sea front.The beaches just get better and better.

Almancao de Pera 2nd April

Very fortunate to find a wonderful camping spot on this terraced campsite. This area is full of sandy coves waiting to be discovered, the only draw back is that the cliffs look like they are ready to fall onto your head! Using scooter and foot we managed to complete most of the coastal path in this area. Weather as you can see from the photos was beautiful.

Rebecca's visit 27th March

Becca flew out to visit us after her operation for some rest and relaxation. Moved onto Quarteria, another lovely woodland site. Visited Villamoura a Golfer's paradise. Pete and Margaret met up with us on a day out to Albufeira and we visited their Villa.

Estoi & Milreu 23rd March

Bikes out again, this time up into the hills to the charming town of Estoi with a rococo Palicio circa 1840 which has just been restored and turned into a Posada. Then onto Milreu the excavated site of a Roman Villa and farm which has some good examples of mosiacs especially as a farm building had been built over some of them.

Faro 21st March

Cycled into Faro, along the long distance cycle path which unfortunately uses a lot of main roads! Nice historic centre to the city with an upmarket marina.

Olhao & Ria Formosa Park 15th March

Slightly to the West of Fuseta is Olhao. Found lovely site backing onto the Ria Formosa Park where the Portuguese water hounds are bred. The Park has a good example of a tidal water mill as well as some Roman fish salting tanks. Our campsite neighbour called Don, turned out to be a sales man for John at Detroit solar in Pinxton, who supplied our solar system.

Fuseta and Almancil 12th March

Rather noisy site in Fuseta but met a nice guy John a Yorkshireman from Norway who was a keen birdspotter. He pointed out some new species to us including a Purple Gallinule and a Little Bittern, sorry no picture of this one.
